+1 to Derek’s point about gap analysis based on CDA. How would this work be organised?

Hi Jeff,

I agree it is a good point and something that we have been considering for a little bit now as we try to get CDAs to be stored within OpenMRS.

I think that the best way to go about this would be to choose some particular CDA profiles from IHE and try to get these to import into OpenMRS. Suranga from Regenstrief is already working on such an activity. This will provide us with valuable input into what is easy to do within OpenMRS and was proves challenging. From the call is sound like we have a good set to focus on initially. I have arranged these into a priority order that I think we should tackle them in:

  1. Ante-partum physical and history - http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Antepartum_Record_Profile
  2. Antepartum summary - http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Antepartum_Care_Summary_Profile
  3. Referrals (Emergency Dept Referrals) - http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Emergency_Department_Referral_Profile
  4. LDS - labour & delivery summary - http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Labor_and_Delivery_Summary_Profile
By actually trying to import these we will find out exactly where we run into problems.

I believe Suranga is already working on the first one at the moment and will likely have some comments to make on his progress on the coming calls.

Cheers,

Ryan

Thanks Ryan and Jeff. Ryan, I think we should maybe set out a bit of a project plan around this effort so we can coordinate parallel work.I'd also very much like us to plan for our efforts to culminate in Connectathon verification of our support for these profiles.we could perhaps work with our colleagues in the Philippines to attend the event in SE Asia in late 2014.

Just a thought...

DJ

Hi Derek,

That is a good though! Let chat about this on this weeks SHR call. It would be great to have a target to aim for. Perhaps we could aim to support the APS profiles and XDS.b in general.

Cheers,

Ryan
