OpenHIE Supply Chain Call - Friday, January 17

Just a reminder that we will be having the OpenHIE Supply Chain call Friday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Agenda:

  1. Call to Order & Introductions – Brandon – 5 mins
  2. OHIE Discourse – Jamie – 5 mins
  3. Joint Initiative Council and FHIR for SC - Carl L
    a. Carl L met with contacts from GS1 and Christian Hay about the Joint Initiative Council between HL7, GS1, ISO, IHE and DICOM. They talked about the need to have (simplified, not full GDSN) product master data expressed as HL7 FHIR resources. The group is very open and supportive of the idea and are going to initiate conversation with the IHE Pharmacy group which has looked at supply chain issues in the past - the profile for barcodes as well as this white paper that came out: https://www.ihe.net/uploadedFiles/Documents/Pharmacy/IHE_PHARM_WP_Supply_Rev1-0_PC_2019-11-18.pdf
(Christian was a co-author) identifies a minimum set of attributes from the product catalog work. We could identify one or two use cases in this white paper as a basis for developing the needed FHIR profiles and resources with IHE. On this call we could prioritize a few use cases for consideration. Carl suggests something that crosses from the pure supply chain/GDSN world into the clinical world would be ideal, for example what product data do you need for a health insurance claim, or what product data do you want when a prescription is created or fulfilled.
  4. 2020 Priorities - a quick share of what relevant efforts each attendee is working on or questions they want OHIE-SC to help answer in 2020
  5. AOB

Thank you!
