OpenHIE Sandbox Update

The sandbox is up and working! Last week we wrapped up some final issues we had with integrating a few components together and a security issue. We are now able to create new patients and process encounters in our POC and have them show up in our SHR instance. We are still in the process of gathering all of our documentation and getting it into a readable format. We also are still working on automating installs with ansible and puppet. Finally, we are starting integration and performance testing to check connectivity and get a baseline for performance. For an up to date look at our progress you can check this page here.

Thanks,

Ryan Yates

Excellent work Ryan and team!

What are next steps with exercising the system?

The next steps are exploring what information is required/not required for a message to go through the HIM with success. We made some notes here on how to guarantee a successful transaction. Also some of the guys would like to do performance and throughput testing to get a gauge of how many transactions the sandbox can handle in its current state.
