OHIE UseCase for the DevOps Demo

Hi All,

With the directive to get the OHIE Demo up and running ready for a potential meeting / hackathon we have been thinking about a use-case to support the Demo-hackathon system. Considering the existing work and questions that have been raised by the RI team about Case Based Surveillance for HIV we were considering this as a primary usecase to give us direction. Especially considering the OpenMRS work being done already.

Thoughts?

Regenstrief would be interested in having the CBR for HIV be a use case for the OHIE Demo. We will wait to hear from the community if this is acceptable.

All,
That sounds good. It has the opportunity to register a patient and save patient-level-clinical data and perhaps more.

If we are doing a hack-a-thon to add/explore new features (rather than a demo the focuses primarily on existing features) I would add referral workflows as a potential use case.
Cheers,

Hi All

I this we haven’t heard a strong no against focusing on using the Case Based Surveillance as the use case to “show OHIE in action”. To Carl L’s idea, I really think there is also merit in getting ideas togetehr for the Hackathon session at the OHIE meeting so that there can be focused areas of work. I.e. one group working on referral, another possibly extending the demo version to add maternal or malaria etc. So barring any objection before the end of the week we will focus the demo on Case Based Surveillance.

I’d like to chime in with a strong “yes”. The HIV case-based surveillance pattern is a highly re-usable one (across multiple communicable diseases, NCDs, maternal care and immunizations). I think it provides a terrific use case that can, going forward, be readily adapted to show other uses of the underlying architecture.

As a call-out to the community: let’s be sure to embrace this as the opportunity to prototype lab and medication workflows. They are crucial parts of the HIV care scenario and we will learn a lot from implementing them.
