Equipment/Asset Management Software

Hello all,

I’m reaching out to the community to see if anyone knows of an open-source equipment/asset management information system. This is to say a system that tracks fixed assets, such as microscopes, CD4 machines, or operating tables allowing for them to be
inventoried, moved between facilities, and maintenance schedules monitored. This is distinct from a supply chain management system as we are not looking to track consumable goods. Another feature would be that it is available in French or at least could be
translated into French.

Many thanks in advance for any help, suggestions, or connections.

Best,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Some of the Tanzania iHRIS community adopted iHRIS for classroom assest management. I can put you in touch with them if you would like.

Cheers,

Dear Matt,

Good to hear from you. The University of Dar es Salaam informatics team adapted iHRIS to track assets and keep inventory - one of the more interesting adaptations of iHRIS. I know it has been deployed at the University there and may have been deployed
by that team elsewhere as well. It would take advantage of the same translation structure as iHRIS, so it would be very close if not fully translated into French.

I am pleased to introduce you to Dr. Juma Lungo, Hilal Seif, and Bunto Mbozi who can share more with you about that system.

Take care,

Hi Matt,

Resource Map is currently being deployed as a Facility Registry, but it was initially was designed to also fill this type of role. If it would be helpful, we would be happy to give you a quick demo and discuss your requirements.

Best,

Scott
