As part of the OpenHIE work, we have been asked to start documenting some of the workflows related to the Health Worker/Provider Registry. We have our first draft workflow diagram for you all to look at:

which documents the relationship between a Health Worker Registry and other parts of the OpenHIE architecture.
I would appreciate any feedback that you have on the diagrams.
Over the coming months, we would like to have a more complete set of workflow descriptions and transaction diagrams. We will be looking to you to help document our use cases at this level. We are not necessarily asking you to actually edit the wiki (though your participation is more than welcome) but we do want to make sure that we have our core common use cases are well documented. Even if they fit in the generic pattern as to the one above, it could be worthwhile to spell out things in more detail. For example:
- Training Information Systems: query for a list of providers at a facility
- Professional Council System: update the credential information for a health worker
- HR Management System: update deployment information for a health worker
What’s missing from this list?
I think this process and documentation would be useful for country-specific implementations as the general OpenHIE architecture is adapted and extended.
