Agenda Topics for Health Finance towards UHC (7/11)??

Hi All,

We are wanting to reach out to see if people have topics they would like to see on the agenda for the July 11th OHIE-UHC call. Here are
some thoughts…

·
Health Financing Subcommunity collaboration with JLN and update on upcoming learning exchange – Anna Shaw and Caren Althauser

·
Continue discussion around OHIE architecture (Jennifer Shivers)

Should we start to talk about designing workflows? Are there new topics people would like to propose? If so just reply to this thread.

Hi Jamie,

I propose to invite Dr. Ghislain Kouematchoua for a presentation on how claims processing etc. works in German governmental health insurance schemes (Derek had asked for something
like that after our presentation on openIMIS interoperability). Would that be something that is of interest to the group?

Interesting side aspect is that Ghislain was HELINA president for some years and also lead a University research team on eHealth in Africa for some years. He is now heading the IT
department of the body that represents medical practices and hospitals in the state of Hamburg (Kassenärztliche Vereinigung).

Not sure if he can make it already for the next meeting, but we could ask.

Best regards - Uwe

Thanks Jamie and Uwe,

I think yes on all parts here. Uwe would it be possible to see if we could have a presentation set up not for the 11 July meeting but the following one?

@Jamie I think the workflows would be a good place to start. I’ll reach out to Daniel Futuerman and Ryan Crichton to support this as I do recall Jembi had dome some work around this,
Uwe who would be good to propose and represent workflows from within the OpenIMIS community?

Thanks Carl,

Yes, it’d be great to start talking about workflows. Some of the openIMIS workflows from the current data exchange use cases seem like a good starting point to build out a set of generic workflows and identify potential HIE components relevant to UHC.

I can present a few sequence diagrams that I’ve worked on, and we could try get others from the openIMIS dev committee working on these use cases to support this discussion.

Regards,

Daniel.

Just back from the JLN workshop I wonder if In terms of business processes we could orient ourselves at the way they structured the field:

Process Areas

  • Business Processes

  • Task Sets

If we assume that openIMIS provides functions for specific task sets, then implementing organisations would be able to use some of the openIMIS functionalities to perform certain tasks from a certain
business process.

In the same way OpenHIE could define data exchange processes (as special type of business processes) and task sets for those processes that a software tool should support.

With those we could then set up openHIE blueprints for data exchange processes, which each implementer would be able to configure as needed. Like Lego …

Just thinking, sorry, had too much coffee.

Thanks Jamie and Uwe,

I think yes on all parts here. Uwe would it be possible to see if we could have
a presentation set up not for the 11 July meeting but the following one?

@Jamie I think the workflows would be a good place to start. I’ll reach out to
Daniel Futuerman and Ryan Crichton to support this as I do recall Jembi had dome some work around this, Uwe who would be good to propose and represent workflows from within the OpenIMIS community?

Hi Jamie,

I propose to invite Dr. Ghislain Kouematchoua for a presentation on how claims processing etc. works in German governmental health insurance schemes (Derek had
asked for something like that after our presentation on openIMIS interoperability). Would that be something that is of interest to the group?

Interesting side aspect is that Ghislain was HELINA president for some years and also lead a University research team on eHealth in Africa for some years. He
is now heading the IT department of the body that represents medical practices and hospitals in the state of Hamburg (Kassenärztliche Vereinigung).

Not sure if he can make it already for the next meeting, but we could ask.

Best regards - Uwe

Subject: Agenda Topics for Health Finance towards UHC (7/11)??

Hi All,

We are wanting to reach out to see if people have topics they would like to see on the agenda for the July 11th OHIE-UHC call.
Here are some thoughts…
