About OpenHie

Hi Pau,

At the moment the OpenHIE allows point of service applications to query for data from the client registry (OpenEMPI). We don’t support the transfer of data directly back to point of service. However, what we envisions happening is that the point of service application can query the CR for data that the point of service is interested in to see if any changes have been made. The point of service can stay up-to-date in that way. We decided to do it this way as the point of service systems should always request information from the HIE so that they can be authenticated and we can ensure that they are allowed to access the requested data. This helps to keep the HIE secure. In other words, data is always pulled from the HIE and never pushed out.

So, in your case you could have the point of service systems poll the CR for new patients and they could be kept up to date that way.

Hope this help.

Cheers,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

We would like to ask for your help with regards to the reverse transfer of data in OpenHIE in which the data from the OpenEMPI will be passed to the Point of Service. We would like to clarify if the OpenHIE already working on that innovation. As for our final project, we need to make the reverse transfer possible. We hope that you could help us or guide us in making this project.

Thank you!

Hi Pau,

I may be worth reaching out to the client registry community for this sort of thing. They are very knowledgeable about OpenEMPI. You can join the mailing list here: https://wiki.ohie.org/display/SUB/Client+Registry+Community
