Update on FHIR...

Hot on the heels of our good conversation with Grahame Grieve, he has been working on the following:

http://wiki.hl7.org/index.php?title=FHIR_Terminology_Service

Thought you all might want to follow along.

Thanks Paul! This is very helpful.

No problem.

From Grahame last night:

The terminology server is now complete (first draft). Still lots of work, but the functional coverage is complete. I’ll look forward to feedback like ‘how do I do X?’

FYI, I am developing a “working document” summarizing the primary FHIR APIs that may be of immediate interest to the OHIE community. I’ll post a pointer once it reaches critical mass.

Here’s a question to the group: The Concept Maps section refers to an “equivalence property” that specifies how similar the mapping is. Is this property present on each (code to code) map in a Concept Map or to a Concept Map as a whole (e.g., ICD-9-CM to SNOMED CT)?

Also, does anyone have the URL for the “reference” FHIR service that includes terminology services?

Thanks,

Jack

Regarding that equivalence flag, I don’t know what the correct answer is, but to me the only thing that makes sense would be to include the flag on each and every individual mapped concept.

I do not know where to find the terminology service inside FHIR.
