SHR Update on specifications and FHIR

Hi All

We had a good call yesterday around the SHR Specifications and FHIR. Some highlights from the call to summerize for those that weren’t on it are:

SHR Specification (https://wiki.ohie.org/display/SUB/Shared+Health+Record+Functional+Specification): Brian has done some great work in starting to try keep a record of what we (the SHR community) have been agreeing towards as an SHR. There was some discussion about storage of discrete data elements and on demand document (ODD) generation too as sections that we needed to see added to the specification of the document (work item).

We also started the conversation around FHIR and how it can and does fit into the SHR. We landed with the point that we as the community are going to start looking at FHIR to support the development of an information model for the SHR as well and adopting the more ready and mature profiles.

We are hoping to enage with a few active implementations (MomConnect and some of the work that Intrahealth are doing) around Matarnal and Immunisations to support our engagement here.

We are set for a follow up call around these points and our team will be proposing 4pm (CAT) 18 Oct if possible.

@All on the call: what did I miss and do you agree with the next steps?

Hi all,
Just an FYI an interesting proposal came up on the IHE ITI committee today on the cross-walk between XDS and FHIR.
ITI Planning Committee 2016/2017 Meetings - IHE Wiki
Take a look at “Patient-Centric Data-Element Location Service” by Charles P.

A recording of the webinar should be posted soon.

A related effort to track is “C-CDA on FHIR”:
