Hi Scott,

Sorry to miss this. Just a quick question to the group:

How much mapping is there with the Facility Registry artifacts with the business requirements of the WHO Master Facility List (draft) manual?

Or to frame another way, if the WHO MFL is the set of all business requirements for facility registration, how many percent of it is already implemented in the current FR design/architecture?

Thanks!

Hi Alvin, Great question!

The plan envisioned is to bring together the past WHO MFL manual, with the facility registry implementation guide, and experience from current implementations to arrive at common language, process and advice to guide all those who are either putting together a facility data set, setting up registry service to manage it, or integrating the FR with other HIE or point of service actors.

From our perspective there is a very strong overlap between the requirements for an MFL and a facility registry, which we hope these collaborative documentation can clearly help support implementers and those planning national architectures. We do make the depiction of a MFL as the data set and a facility registry as the tool or service, and thus the particular requirements associated with each are slightly different. For instance a dataset may need a particular type of information, while the FR tool needs to carry out types of activities (e.g., activity monitoring, permissions, curation, etc.) These have also been identified and supported by our strategy in OpenHIE, although we would anticipate that there can be some variation from implementation to implementation for their particular requirements, which we of course welcome to further enrich the community.

Let us know if you have any other questions. cc’ing Cristina from ICFI as well who has been leading/coordinating the guidance effort.

Sincerely,

Scott

Thank you Scott…Hi Cristina, kindly advice where we can get the artifacts for these – we are in the process of organizing ourselves to evaluate existing architectures for approriateness for our region/country needs…
